One of the first chalanges for someone who just wants to do realistic Character Animation is to find a Character to animate.
If you are trying to specialise in realistic animation - you simply cannot just take any character and animate them properly. It can not be a cartoony character if you'd like to get a job as a Character animator for a AAA Game Studio or a Visual Effects facility.
Breaking into the field without proper tools and samples on hand can be frustrating. This is exactly why we do what we do!
