Hair Simulation and Groom Using Yeti

There exist a number of software that can be used inside the VFX pipeline for grooming and hair simulation, which differ by the number of features they offer as well as the technology behind each of them.

The most popular choice is either ShaveAndHaircut by Joe Alter or Yeti by a Canadian company offering a cheaper alternative. Due to license fees studios have recently been slowly switching to Yeti.

For game-dev Nvidias real-time hair solution may work or be using cards and dynamic bones for ponytails.
